Questions from the Forum

Straight answers to the things members ask most often, without the legal jargon.

How do I join a regional sub-forum?

Head to your profile settings and pick your province from the dropdown list. Once you save it, you'll see threads from neighbours in your area on the home feed. You can switch regions any time without losing your post history.

Can I post about a local business I run?

Yes, but keep it in the dedicated "Local Traders" board. We ask members to share their own experiences rather than copy-paste adverts. A genuine story about how you started your stall at the weekend market goes down far better than a sales pitch.

What counts as respectful conversation?

We keep it simple: no personal attacks, no hate speech, and no spamming the same thread. Disagreement is welcome, but back it up with your own experience. If a thread gets heated, our moderators will step in and ask everyone to take a breath.

How do photo challenges work?

Every second Friday we post a theme, like "Your braai setup" or "Morning view from your stoep." Snap a photo, upload it to the challenge thread, and fellow members vote with reactions. The winner gets a shout-out in the weekly newsletter and bragging rights until the next round.

Are my posts visible to search engines?

Public threads are indexed, so your stories might show up in Google searches. If you'd rather keep something between forum members, post it in a private regional group or use the "Members Only" tag when starting a new thread.

I forgot my password. What now?

Use the "Forgot password" link on the login page and we'll send a reset link to your email. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder. Still stuck? Drop us a line at info@dangitgeorge.com and we'll sort it out manually.
